Metal finishes can be a reliable material with a beautiful appearance for many finishes in a home. But metal can become tarnished and worn if not treated properly, and longer the build-up is left, the more permanent the damage may become. But cleaning the metal in your home doesn’t require finding just the right products and solutions, you probably have all that you need to properly clean various metal surfaces right now!

Common household items like vinegar, olive oil, baking soda, and lemon juice are excellent natural cleaners for metal, and because they are natural, they are less likely to do any damage. For copper items, use white vinegar and rub the surface with a soft cloth while the vinegar breaks down any surface build-up. To clean brass, mix lemon juice and baking soda into a paste and rub it onto the surface, letting it sit for a few minutes before washing it off. For chrome and stainless steel, all you should need is a small amount of olive oil to polish off any spots.
