Keeping up with home maintenance throughout the year can prevent costly repairs and keep your home in top shape. Each season brings its own tasks, so here’s a breakdown of what to focus on.

Spring is all about fresh starts. Check your roof for winter damage, clean out gutters, and inspect windows and doors for leaks. It’s also the perfect time to deep clean your home, power wash the exterior, and service your air conditioning before the summer heat arrives.

Summer is for outdoor upkeep. Mow the lawn regularly, trim trees and shrubs, and check your sprinkler system. Inspect your deck or patio for wear and reseal if needed. Inside, keep an eye on your HVAC system and clean or replace air filters to keep energy bills in check.

Fall is the time to prepare for colder weather. Clean out gutters again to prevent ice buildup, inspect your heating system, and seal any drafts around windows and doors. Rake leaves regularly, and if you have a fireplace, get it professionally cleaned before use.

Winter means protection from the elements. Prevent frozen pipes by insulating exposed plumbing, check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and stock up on snow removal supplies. If you plan to be away, set your thermostat to prevent any cold-weather damage.

By staying ahead of seasonal maintenance, you can keep your home safe, comfortable, and efficient year-round!
