So many of us are still spending our working hours and our free time all in the same space since the COVID-19 pandemic began. But because the lines between work and home are blurred, our productivity and professionalism can be impacted. One way to combat this is to create a dedicated workspace at home.
Choose a space that is quiet and gives you some privacy if you live with others. And look for plenty of natural light, which can really improve productivity. Before getting started, consider your needs in the space. Depending on the type of work you do, you may need a clear surface, a smaller desk for your computer, or both. Why not make a detailed list of all these requirements before designing the space?
One final suggestion would be to have a separate phone for work or to put your device in ‘ Do Not Disturb’ mode during your working hours. This will help to separate your work and personal life and eliminate distractions. With your home office set up, you’ll just be as productive as before the pandemic kept us at home, if not more so.
