Rugs can add comfort, style, and warmth to tile flooring. But how effective they are depends largely on the type of rug and where it’s placed in the space, so here are a few ideas to use rugs effectively:

  • In the living room, place a large area rug under your seating area. It anchors the space and softens the feel of the cool tiles. Make sure all the front legs of your furniture are on the rug to create a cohesive look.
  • In the kitchen, a runner or a small rug in front of the sink adds cushion where you stand the most. It’s practical for comfort and also prevents slipping.
  • For hallways, a long runner works well to create a flow through the space, while also warming up the tiled area.
  • In bathrooms, consider a bath mat for comfort near the sink or shower.

Strategically placed rugs can make your tile floors feel more inviting and visually dynamic!
